Evidently, 10" is as wide as you can go in the rear, and then only with 18" diameter rims if you want to avoid the HICAS knuckle. (One or two TT.net members have 17x10" in the rear, but seem to have rubbing issues at the fender or elsewhere. See for instance Chip, who posted to this thread. Any comments about wheel rub Chip?) You just can't go to 10" widths with 16" diameter rims. Wider wheels results in more lateral grip and indirectly results in more power to the ground while turning. That being said, and considering what others have said above, a nice combo would be 17x10 if you can find an offset that doesn't rub the inner or outer surfaces on your car!
